Celebrate National Trails Day
The goal of National Trails Day is to bring together all trail enthusiasts, young and old, while honoring those who help maintain and preserve hiking trails for everyone to enjoy.

National Trails Day – Guided Nature Walk for Young Families – June 7 at 10am @ Bedford Village Common

Environmental Educator, Jo Hendry, will lead a "Find the Rainbow" Nature Event.  Families will build a 3-D rainbow from items collected in nature.  Children of all ages and strollers welcomed.

National Trails Day – Guided Walk for Adults – June 4 at 2 pm
Pulpit Rock Conservation Area to Joppa Hill Farm

Join resident Dave Butler for a guided walk from Pulpit Road parking lot to the Educational Farm (and back).  Dave is skilled at reading forested landscapes and revealing their past.  Bring water, sturdy shoes, and hiking poles.  Plan on 1-1.5 hours.

National Trails Week – Hiking Challenge
Bedford student, Freya Killian, whose father, Grant, serves on the Conservation Commission, brainstormed this fun event!  During the week of June 4th, between 10 and 15 orienteering stations will be temporarily installed throughout the Pulpit Rock Conservation Area and along the Pulpit Brook Trail, which connects Pulpit Rock through the Town of Amherst to the Educational Farm at Joppa Hill.

After you register for the event on the Parks and Recreation website, you can download an orienteering card, and along your hike, find the orienteering stations and stamp your card to mark your journey.

Freya and the Conservation Commission challenge you to walk the trail all the way from Pulpit Rock Conservation Area to the Educational Farm at Joppa Hill.

Do as many stations as you like!  Once you complete your journey, send a photo of your walking party and stamped card to
recreation@bedfordnh.org.  If your entry is picked at random, you could win a prize!  We expect several prizes to be awarded!  There will also be a photo station and card pick-up/drop-off option at the Educational Farm at Joppa Hill.

National Trails Week at Pulpit Rock Conservation Area
During the week of June 4th, the Bedford Trail Stewards invite you to explore the Pulpit Brook Trail from New Boston Road to the Joppa Hill Farm.  Along the way, you will find orienteering stations where you can stamp your card to mark your journey.  We invite you to enjoy the trail on a day and time that works best for you.  After you register, you will be sent a card to stamp along your journey.

When you complete your walk send a photo of your walking party and your stamped card to recreation@bedfordnh.org to be entered into a raffle for prizes.

* Adjustments and discounts will be applied during checkout if applicable. *
